Versions 2.1 & 1.7 supports Selectable Styles for HTML backup & Email the backup features
Txtract creates HTML, CSV or XML backups of your Text Messages (SMS) from your Android (G1) phone into your SD Card. Now that you have backup of your text messages, you can delete certain threads, or clear the Messaging storage.
With Txtract, not only can you backup your SMS messages, but you can also send them to your email.
*Txtract does NOT provide any restore facilities.
Just click "Extract". Let it spin. Once completed, connect your Android (G1) Phone to your computer and access your SD card, or simply email the backup file to yourself. That easy!
The backup file will be under the directory
/sdcard/download/txtract/
The file will be datetime stamped
Troubleshooting
A few quick tips on possible problems;
- Make sure that your SD card is NOT mounted during the time of extraction. You may also need to disconnect the USB cable.
- If you have too many messages, Txtract may crash due to excess processor/memory usage.
